As the University of Kentucky football team prepares for Saturday's game against the second-ranked Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Ala., the Wildcats' offensive linemen have been paying special attention to Cody in film study.
Really, how could they not? The mountain's hard to miss.
"I've seen guys like that," left tackle Garry Williams said. "In the NFL."
True, 365-pounders are a rarity in college football. And it's rarer still to see one like Cody, a transfer from Gulf Coast Community College who's as mobile and quick-footed as a man 100 pounds lighter.
"He's a great athlete," UK left guard Zipp Duncan said. "He moves really well, and surprisingly, he uses good technique. You don't see him come off the ball very high. He's a great all-around player, and we're definitely going to have our hands full with him."
Though Cody is by far the biggest of Bama's bunch up front, he might not pose the most sizable challenge to a UK offensive line that has been inconsistent through four games.
"There's a lot of other guys on that defensive line -- I hate to say this -- that I think are better and more versatile than Cody," coach Rich Brooks said. "He's a force, but the other guys are scary, too."
