Character Questioned!

Saban ripped into his players as harshly as he has all season.

He questioned their character, he wondered why some of them made choices that led to suspensions, he lambasted the leadership, and then assaulted their commitment to winning.

"If somebody who is a senior leader messes up, then the younger guys are going to see that and think, `Oh I can do that,'" Mustin said. "But that's why Coach Saban has to punish people like he has. I might hurt in the short term, but in the long term, it's going to help."

Saban said he does not intend to change the way he handles such issues.

"I'm not going to sugarcoat it," he said. "If we can't win doing it the right way, then I won't be here. That's not going to happen."
