Has anyone noticed who is on top of the Big Ten Standing with their overall record? Yes, of course Penn State is 5-0 with their nice win on Saturday and their list of cupcakes during their non-conference schedule. That team isn't the one most of us are surprised about, the other 5-0 team in the Big Ten is Northwestern.
Yes, the Wildcats are out to their best record in 46 years with a win on the road against Iowa this past Saturday. Now, I wouldn't call Iowa a quality opponent, but it's still a road win for the Wildcats and they could be a very dangerous team later this year.
How does the Schedule play out for the Wildcats? They have a bye this weekend, then host MSU and Purdue at home, IU and Minnesota on the road, back home for Ohio State, Michigan at the Big House, Illinois at Home. Wildcats look very good to be Bowling this year. Thier next 4 games are all winnable (probably not against MSU).
Can Wisconsin rebound from the Blowup in the BigHouse? Yes, but they have murders row coming to Madison the next two weeks with both OSU and PSU visiting. This will make or break the Badgers season.
Michigan State seems to be quietly taking care of business, do they have a shot? After the opening loss to Cal at Cal the Spartans have been playing good quality Big Ten football. They also have a pretty easy road the next two weeks with Iowa at home and Northwestern on the road before the get into the meat of the schedule with OSU at home, Michigan at the Big House, and Wisconsin at home, all in a row. As also know PSU is the last game of the year in Happy Valley. I see MSU losing 3 of those 4 big games.
Does Penn State play any difficult road games in the Big Ten? Yes, they have trips to Wisconsin and Ohio State. The rest of the schedule looks very good for JoPa.
