Kentucky is no Push-Over!

Even though Alabama leads the all-time series 33-2-1, and won all eight previous meetings in Tuscaloosa, this is no time to take the Wildcats lightly.

Kentucky is also undefeated (4-0), leads the nation in scoring defense (5.5 points per game), and tops the conference in both sacks (two) and first downs allowed (45).

Last week against Western Kentucky, the Wildcats allowed just 15 passing yards. None of the first four opponents were able to record a rushing touchdown, and only three possessions reached the red zone).

“They are maybe the best defensive team in the country,” Saban said. “They have a lot of guys back from last year’s team. They are physical, they play with toughness, and they make good sound adjustments in what they do.”

Kentucky ranks second in the SEC in total defense, averaging 227.2 yards, and has allowed just 73.2 rushing yards per game (in comparison, Alabama has yielded 259.4 total yards and 54.0 rushing yards). The Wildcats are first in pass-efficiency defense, and have a turnover margin of plus-four.
